We are seeking a forward-thinking Manufacturing Engineer to establish and optimize production processes with focus on Additive Manufacturing, welding, NDT, Machining and Inspection.
Material Solutions is a business area within GKN Aerospace Engines. As a part of GKN Aerospace we bring unique knowledge about fabrication and additive processes. Material Solutions combines this knowledge with innovative engineering skills, pushing sustainable manufacturing forward.
Main Responsibilities:
<ul><li>
Qualify products and processes against Aerospace standards and Customer specifiactions.
</li><li>
Operation planning from drawing to finished part.
</li><li>
Preparation and maintenance of operation documentation.
</li><li>
Product follow-up/monitoring.
</li><li>
Assisting in daily operational production.
</li><li>
Communication with customers and suppliers.
</li><li>
Calculation and initiation of new products.
</li><li>
Proactively work on the introduction of new processes, technology, and Industry 4.0.
</li><li>
Collaborate with colleagues to develop "best practices" for robust solutions related to standardized machining operations.
</li><li>
Focus on Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) and quality requirements from the aerospace standard AS9100, including the implementation of ZDM tools from the APQP model.
</li><li>
Prioritize Safety &amp; Quality above all.
</li><li>
Extensive use of database-supported systems for operation planning, modeling, and CNC programming is applied.
</li></ul>
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
<ul><li>
Preferably a combination of a trade certificate and higher education -- 3-5 years within the fields of mechanical/Material/system engineering/workshop technology/mechatronics.
</li><li>
Ideally, 3-5 years of practical experience from a manufacturing company.
</li><li>
Experience with Additive Manufacturing.
</li><li>
Experience in project work and project management.
</li><li>
Experience with ERP systems, preferably TeamCenter (TCM) and SAP.
</li><li>
Familiarity with measurement techniques and drawing req. interpretation.
</li><li>
Familiarity with Qualitywork and experience in:
<ul><li>
Root cause analysis
</li><li>
Practical problem solving
</li><li>
Statistical process control
</li><li>
Risk management, PFMEA
</li><li>
Lean work
</li></ul>
</li><li>
Knowledge and experience in material technology.
</li><li>
Excellent language skills in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.
</li><li>
Ability to work structured, independently, and across disciplines.
</li></ul>
