Are you interested in AI governance and regulation, and would like to do research and development (R&amp;D) on how AI policy, legislation and global regulatory trends are shaping AI assurance?
As a Senior researcher in AI governance and regulations, you will be part of DIGIT’s effort to conduct interdisciplinary R&amp;D on how AI and assurance is being shaped today. Currently, we are working on digital transformation and AI assurance topics from technology, business value and user perspectives.
Your primary responsibility will be to focus on the governance and regulatory aspects of AI, and do R&amp;D on the evolving AI governance, standards and regulatory landscape. You will also be responsible for collaborating with technology-first R&amp;D teams, and co-creating and sharing actionable insights internally in DNV.
<h4 class="navds-heading navds-heading--xsmall navds-typo--spacing">As a Senior researcher in AI governance, standards and regulations, your main responsibilities include:</h4>
<ul><li>
Conduct in-depth research on AI policy, legislation, standardization and global regulatory trends
</li><li>
Monitor and summarize developments from major standards bodies, government agencies, international agencies, and academic forums
</li><li>
Analyze and distill implications of the national, regional, and global trends for AI assurance
</li><li>
Collaborate with technologists and engineers in joint R&amp;D activities to translate research into novel AI assurance frameworks and business models
</li><li>
Identify funding opportunities and collaborate with external academic and commercial partners to form consortia and submit applications
</li><li>
Take the role of PM for internal and externally funded R&amp;D projects on the topics
</li><li>
Communicate through briefs, position papers, presentations, and thought-leadership articles for internal and external audiences
</li></ul>
<h4 class="navds-heading navds-heading--xsmall navds-typo--spacing">The ideal candidate has the following:</h4>
<ul><li>
Has an interest in pursuing a career in applied research in governance, digital transformation and assurance.
</li><li>
Has relevant technical (e.g., AI, statistics, computer science, engineering or related) or non-technical background (e.g. law, business, innovation or related) at Master or PhD level.
</li><li>
Has 5 years’ experience in research, policy analysis or techno-legal work which involves bridging regulation, policy and technology.
</li><li>
Has proven experience with bridging AI, regulation and policy.
</li><li>
Is familiar with key international, national and global AI governance initiatives, such as the EU AI Act, AI safety and security initiatives, and CEN and ISO standards. Familiarity with risk management methodologies is a plus.
</li><li>
Has exceptional analytical and communication skills with the ability to distill complex regulatory language into clear, actionable insights for technology-first teams.
